At Illumina East we don’t strive to have all the answers or one way of doing things. Illumina teachers are able to ask students important questions during practice to encourage self reflection and personal empowerment. They are able to hold space powerfully and humbly with the ability to apply compassion and neutrality to all interactions.

Class Schedule

Each class, regardless of style, will be a conscious physical and meditative journey focused on some aspect of the human experience. Beyond simple themes or repetitive sequencing, Illumina teachers will approach each layer of the journey — from body through to spirit — in a full spectrum approach igniting yogic experiences that dive beyond and through asana into the heart of what it means to be human.

Illumina Flow is a vinyasa style class with a strong unified intention that is carried throughout the class on all layers including the asana. An Illumina class will feel like a journey with the purpose of illuminating some facet of what it means to be human & offering specific tools for reflection and transformation. Expect mantra, moving metaphor, music, Kundalini elements and shamanic principles to be present in some form. This class is recommended for those with a strong foundational practice who love to explore.


Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic and meditative practice specifically designed for modern living to give you expedited experiences of physical stamina, mental clarity, and elevation of spirit. A Kundalini class will take you on a Hero’s journey through challenge into freedom and will invite you to explore various aspects of your humanity through specific techniques for reflection and transformation.  Expect yoga postures, dynamic breath, mantra, meditation, and deep relaxation with gong.

An Illumina based align class will create conscious awareness to your physical body’s alignment and will allow for the whole self to come into focus and shine. Intentional and intelligent principles of optimal alignment will be taught as well as other powerful tools for self reflection & direction of energy. Class may include meditation and/or pranayama techniques, bringing you into the center of yourself through the portal of the body.


Vinyasa flow is an athletic practice, linking postures and breath together into creative sequences designed to explore, express, strengthen, and energetically balance the whole being. Expect to be led thematically so that you may experience a deeper awareness of the connection between your body, mind, energy field and heart.


Yoga Therapeutics is a slow practice perfect for mature practitioners with limited mobility, or physically rehabilitating from injury. Your will learn to support your body to keep it safe, strengthen, and learn intuitive skills of self inquiry. A Therapeutics class will also feel like a journey with the purpose of illuminating some facet of what it means to be human & offering specific tools for reflection and transformation. Expect clear instruction, ability to ask questions, and personal attention to how every student is able to embody their practice.


Restorative Yoga is a loving and consciously guided journey into your most relaxed and open state.  This class will dissolve tensions in the body, calm the nervous system, and restore you to your innate balance. Expect to experience Yoga postures supported by props, subtle breath cues, visualization/meditation techniques and deep relaxation.


Yoga Basics is the perfect place to begin your yoga journey or to take extra time with the foundations of your physical practice. Expect to embody essential principles of alignment, explore the power of the breath and open to the contemplative practices that will take you into the heart of who you are.

Please Read Before Your First Class

Rules & Requests

Time: We have a 5-minute late policy. Give yourself time to sign in and get comfortable. We wish to accommodate all, and because our center is one room, the buzzer gets switced off after the 5 minute window. If you need to leave early, please inform the teacher prior to class and follow their guidelines. Please inform the teacher of an emergency situation and come up with a solution together.

Space: When placing your mat in the studio, give space to yourself and others.

Shoes: Please leave downstairs. If you’d like them with you, place them in a bag and store in an upstairs shelf.

Personal Belongings: Please store your valuables on the shelves provided upstairs and not by your mat or downstairs. No tech use allowed during class. Please put your phone on silent (not vibrate) and in your bag.
